What is IST?

IST stands for Information Systems Technology and is one of the backbone fields behind computer related businesses.  If there is a business that runs with computer technology then in some way IST affects the way it is ran.  IST provides the systems analysts, database administrators, network administrators, and many other positions in the IT field.

If I have leaned one thing over the years is that there are millions of computers in use and only a small percentage of these computer owners actually know the full potential of these machines.  Unlike many careers which fix you to one specific area computers let you choose from endless possibilities.  But to be truly productive with a computer you must not only know how it works but, also understand all of the outside factors that will impact the way a computer functions.  The following links will hopefully give you an idea how to get started with computers.  All the way from what computer companies to buy from to what type of security you should be looking at when you are online to protect your privacy.
